Everton hit with another two-point deduction for PSR breach

Everton continue struggle in the Premier League as they face another two-point deduction for breaching the Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

Everton had initially faced a 10-point deduction for similar case, but got it reduced to six points after an appeal.

However, the recent development for the three-year cycle ending in the 2022/23 season has led to a further two-point deduction, leaving them in 16th place in the table.

The Premier League confirmed the decision, stating that an independent Commission found Everton guilty of a breach amounting to £16.6 million and imposed an immediate two-point deduction.

The Commission made it clear that any breach of the PSRs, forces a sporting sanction.

Meanwhile, Everton have announced their intention to appeal the decision, and concerned with inconsistencies in points deductions applied by different commissions.

With a total deduction of eight points this season, Everton’s Premier League safety is now further in doubt, as they can only boast two points away from the relegation zone.
