Montero named Juventus interim coach as players salute Allegri after shock dismissal

Juventus have dismissed Max Allegri, citing behavior “incompatible with the values” of the club after Coppa Italia final win over Atalanta.

The decision, unexpected with only two Serie A matches remaining, has led to mixed reactions from players and fans.

Midfielder Nicolò Fagioli, returning from a gambling ban, expressed gratitude on social media.

He said “As you always said, few words needed… THANK YOU, MISTER.”

In the interim, Paolo Montero has been appointed as Juventus coach.

Renowned sports journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that Juventus are also negotiating with Thiago Motta to become the head coach for the next season, having already sent a formal proposal.

The dismissal stems from Allegri’s actions during and after the Coppa Italia final.

It included tearing off his jacket, tie, and almost his shirt, as well as screaming at the fourth on-field official.

He also engaged in an altercation with the editor of Sports news outlet Tuttosport.
