Thiago Silva drops hint on Chelsea future after FA Cup exit

Thiago Silva has hinted that his time at Stamford Bridge may be coming to an end following the Blues’ FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City.

Silva, who joined Chelsea in 2020, was visibly emotional after the loss, which marked another disappointment for the Blues at Wembley.

With his contract expiring this summer, the Brazilian hints that a decision on his future is imminent.

“I do have a decision made in my mind, but it’s not the moment to share it,” Silva said. “Sooner or later, the news will come out.”

“I don’t want to say anything now after a defeat. I’m sad about the result,” Silva added.

Reflecting on his time at Chelsea, Silva expressed gratitude for the experience but recognizes the challenges of playing at the highest level at his age.

Meanwhile, Silva’s wife has also hinted at the veteran defender’s departure from Chelsea with a social media post, describing the FA Cup defeat as his “last dance.”

While 39-year-old has had a distinguished career at clubs like AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, his future at Chelsea remains uncertain as the season draws to a close.
